Since 1879, The Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside town of Rothes has quietly and carefully produced remarkable single malt whisky. Glenrothes draw water from five local water sources and use it throughout production, including as part of their particularly slow distillation process which shapes the distinctive style and character of the spirit. They conclude with maturation in sherry seasoned oak casks from the Jerez region in Southern Spain, a defining feature of The Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky. Their whiskies are consistently made with absolute care and honesty by those who truly know what it takes to make great whisky.

The Glenrothes 12 Years Old matured only in Sherry seasoned oak casks and bottled at natural colour with a character of vanilla, melon, and cinnamon.
