Story
With his decade long experience at Domaine Prieuré Roch, the young winemaker, Yann Durieux, decided the time was ripe to start his own winery Recrue des Sens in 2010.
Working on a small area just 3 hectares in size up the hills of the Hautes Cote de Nuits in Villers La Faye, Durieux continued his focus on producing wines as naturally as he
could, taking inspiration from Henri Frederic Roch with whom he considered a father figure, and who had also encouraged him to vinify his early vintages in 2008 and 2009 in
the domain’s cellars. All of his wines are certified organic biodynamic. Vineyards have never been damaged by chemical. Hand-picked grapes are fermented with whole bunch
with natural yeast, and wines are aged in old barrel. NoSO2 added, non-filtered.
The brand offers alternative and unconventional flavors, and great value for money.
100% Aligote from 40 years old vines on the hill of Vosne-Romanée, just opposite the famed Romanée-Conti, on clay-limestone soils. Only biodynamic farming in the vineyard and nothing added or taken away in the cellar, no fining, filtration or any added SO2. It sees a brief skin contact that adds further carnal matter and an elevage of 18 months between large wood and the bottle. Almost metaphysical focus and power in perfect balance with delicate elegance.
