HdV is a venture between the Hyde Family of Napa Valley and the de Villaine Family from Domaine de la Romanee Conti of Burgundy. The families, related by marriage, share long histories in French and Californian winemaking.

In HdV, we have brought together our knowledge and experience for the purpose of creating single vineyard wines from the slopes of Hyde Vineyards.

This Pinot Noir program was started in 2010, with the planting of a 3.2-acre block at Hyde Vineyard. It took over 10 years of careful study by our founders to select the perfect site and vine material to make this wine so unique.

Ygnacia Pinot Noir is a blend of 7 heritage clones collected by Larry Hyde over the last 40 years. Made with minimal whole clusters and new oak, the wine showcases the energy and concentration of the Carneros terroir

Dark Hudson cherry and rhubarb work in harmony with characters of savory lavender and thyme accented by a hint of Oolong tea. Enticing flavors of fresh strawberries and bergamot flirt with notes of pink peppercorn and a hint of apricot blossom.

Taste

Delicate yet full body with silky and structured tannins. Savory on palate with concentrated dark fruit intensity, followed by a long and mineral finished.
