De Sousa is a Grower Champagne based in Avize in the Cote des Blancs, and farm 10 hectares. Their specialty is Chardonnay, and they farm biodynamically which was certified in 2013.
It is an authentic, singular Champagne made exclusively from Chardonnay, a white grape with white juice.
This exceptional Champagne are combined by 3 grand cru- 50% Avize, 25% Aÿ and 25% Ambonnay, this explains how this cuvée got its name
Avize, a village classified as a Grand Cru Chardonnay, located at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, for this cuvée, we have made a selection of grapes grown on over 50-year-old vines, and have vinified them carefully in 225-litre oak barrels.
Aÿ, a village classified as a Grand Cru Pinot Noir, located where the Marne Valley meets the Mountain of Reims. The slopes' unique, full southern exposure and irregular topography allow the Pinot Noir grape to express its aromas of ripe fruit while allying power and finesse. These old vineyards are still planted with old varieties of Pinot Noir that produce small fruit with unique aromas.
Ambonnay, a village classified as a Grand Cru Pinot Noir, located on the Mountain of Reims, we have chosen to maintain our vines that were there planted in the 1950s. They have low yields but the grapes show greater maturity and more concentration.
Two varietals, three Grands Crus that each lend their own personality to the cuvée.

Aromas
It is dense and full, a sign of great richness, and leaves lovely legs along the side of the glass.
The nose is flattering, with typical notes of Chardonnay such as lemon, pineapple, and especially mango, heightened by butteriness from its oak barrel ageing. Aromas of red berries such as blackcurrant and raspberry, typical of Pinot Noir, can also be detected, along with scents of liquorice.
Taste
The vinosity of the wine on the nose is echoed on the palate by the presence of Pinot Noir, which lends a velvety, unctuous smoothness to the finesse, freshness and minerality of the Chardonnay.
